Today when world is talking about Agenda 2030. We being dwellers of under developed country(Pakistan) felt it is our responsibility and duty to play our role and contribute to the best of our abilities in achieving globally agreed 17 sustainable development goals.
This is the real time when every one should play his /her part in the noble cause of achieving Agenda 2030, because state alone can’t do significant progress without the co-operation of its nation.
Understanding the importance of this cooperation a practical step was taken by us in this regard by opening a school in one of the under-developed area(Shah Town) of Karachi, Pakistan.
Why School ?
We firmly believe without providing quality education specially in early childhood we can’t achieve globally agreed 17 goals. No child should be left out of school because of the non availability of funds for school fees. It is their basic right to get educated and polish their skills, pursue their dreams of becoming doctor, engineer or what ever they want to be or at least to become a responsible citizen.
In its report last year UNESCO stated that the number of school going children is 50,158,104 and out of which 37% are unable to attend the school in Pakistan.
In another report , Human Rights Watch (HRW) reports (2018) that nearly 22.5m children were out of school.
According to United Nations Population Fund (UNPF) our Sindh Province alone will need of 25,000 Schools in next 20 years due to increasing population growth. It also adds that one out of four children between age of 5 to 16 is out of school.
It is our responsibility to co-own our those children and what ever we can do so that they can get education. It was very painful for us to see our children were away from high quality education despite of living in metropolitan city.
So we decided to open a school so that we can help our children, who are the future not only of their families but also of the country. These children can play vital role in country’s prosperity and development.
Why Shah Town?
Shah Town is a part of the city , A city which is known as City of Lights and Economic Hub of the country. But despite of being part of metropolitan and having an estimated population of 0.2 -0.3m with rapidly growing rate was deprived of essential educational services and others.
Most the population there belongs to middle or lower middle class and for them it is difficult to get their children enrolled in a big schools or even in school.
Many of the parents refrains to send their children especially girls to near by areas for the Schools.
It is pertinent to mention here that limited number of small schools were present in that area which were not sufficient to cater the needs of growing population in that area.
It was necessary to provide quality educational services to such children at their door steps.
BlueBells School System, Shah Town , Karachi, Pakistan
After a bit long struggle and hard work, on 23rd February we laid the foundation of BlueBells School System, An opening ceremony was held in school premises, which was attended by large number of people including Parents,Political leaders , Children and others. Children were so glad to see first school having a bit large building and other accessories to attract children towards education in their area, what a treat to watch to those happy innocent faces.
